Arendals Fossekompani has considerable financial investments, mainly in a limited number of liquid shares and bonds listed at the Oslo Stock Exchange. In addition, Arendals Fossekompani holds selected less liquid investments of financial character. Every financial investment decision is based on thorough analysis and evaluations. The portfolio is at any given time dominated by well-positioned companies.

Arendals Fossekompani has in addition taken active industrial positions in selected companies. Common to these investments is that the companies are considered to be well-positioned within their respective business sectors, have good growth potential, and that Arendals Fossekompani can contribute to increased value creation in the companies through its industrial competence and financial strength.

Flumill AS

Flumill has developed and patented a robust and environmentally friendly technology for the harvesting of energy found in oceanic currents, tidal streams and rivers. Tidal energy represents a huge untapped potential and is a predictable and environmentally friendly energy source.
In 2012, Flumill received a licence from NVE to build and operate a full scale pilot plant for energy production which will exploit the tidal currents of Rystraumen in Tromsø municipality.
The company’s head office is located in Arendal.

The Norwegian company NorSun is a leading supplier of monocrystalline silicon-based ingots and wafers, serving the market for high-efficiency solar cells and modules. The company operates a state-of-the-art production facility pursuing a detailed and aggressive technology and cost road map ensuring cost competitiveness. NorSun is among the top wafer producers supplying the globally leading cell and module manufacturers within the high-efficiency segment.
NorSun was established in 2005 by REC founder Alf Bjørseth. The company’s head office is located in Oslo. The yearly production capacity at its factory in Årdal is approx. 300 MW.
