Local commitments

Arendals Fossekompani has a long-standing commitment towards social development and economic growth. The parent company has through many years based its activities on the exploitation of a local natural resource and we therefore particularly want to contribute to economic growth and social development in the Arendal region.
The same goes for our subsidiaries in their local areas. We support various measures for children and the young in sports and culture; in addition we are an active supporter of selected projects in Arendal and Froland municipalities. Among these are:

Canal Street

Canal Street is an annual music festival in Arendal with Norwegian and international artists. The festival makes use of the maritime environment and a number of scenic arenas the region can offer. Canal Street was arranged the first time in 1996.

Arendalsuka is an independent arena where national participants in politics, social life and business meet for debates and to strengthen faith in politics and a vibrant democracy. Arendalsuka was arranged the first time in 2012.

Frolandia is a new and modern sports centre in Froland municipality. The centre is a multi-purpose facility with a combination of swimming pool, bathing facilities and fitness centre. The centre was officially opened in 2011.
